In this course, students will examine crimes involving interpersonal violence and victimization with a focus on domestic violence and stalking, adult sexual assault, and human trafficking. Students will explore victim dynamics, offender behavior, legal frameworks, investigative techniques, and multidisciplinary responses used in modern special victims investigations. The course emphasizes theory and practice related to interpersonal violence and victimization, trauma-informed policing, evidence-based investigative practices, and case analysis.
