This course introduces Women’s and Gender Studies as interdisciplinary fields that look closely at how gender affects people’s lives and society. Students will examine how gender, sex, and sexuality are shaped by cultural systems and theory. Drawing on global perspectives and social justice movements, students will analyze historical and contemporary struggles for equity. Through an intersectional lens, students will critically reflect on identity, power, and advocacy across disciplines and communities.
