This theme-based course builds on the skills learned in ENG-120, focusing on information literacy (the ability to locate and evaluate information) as well as written, oral, and digital communication skills. The theme will vary according to the instructor, but in all sections, students will conduct extensive research and communicate their knowledge through a variety of presentations and writing assignments that will culminate in a persuasive research paper that balances formal academic sources with non-academic ones. The course prepares students for the research and communication demands they will encounter in their majors and professional lives.
