In this course, students will explore how to manage emergencies using the emergency management cycle—from mitigation and preparedness to response and recovery. Students will learn how to coordinate with a variety of agency types, engage communities, and communicate clearly during high-pressure situations. Students will also assess what went well and what needs improvement after an incident, using that insight to strengthen future efforts. This course builds the practical skills needed to lead with confidence and improve outcomes during crises.
