This course prepares students for the hands-on training required for working in a cell culture laboratory, including the development of experimental design and documentation skills. Students will perform experiments that focus on maintaining living cells and proper cell culture equipment use, and gain skills such as aseptic technique, passaging, cell counting, cell viability assays, and fluorescence staining techniques. Students will also present a bioengineering related experiment that synthesizes learned skills and requires the application of experimental design and data analysis.
